Dr. John O’Kusky passed away on November 26, 2024.
An outstanding educator and researcher, Dr. O’Kusky was an Associate Professor Emeritus in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, where he served for more than three decades.
Dr. O’Kusky’s research involved evaluating novel therapies for Parkinson’s using a variety of techniques. He was recognized for his excellence in teaching learners in the Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLSc) Program and the MD Undergraduate Program, in addition to mentorship and supervision of graduate students.
The BC, Musqueam and UBC flags were lowered on Thursday, May 8, 2025 in remembrance.
