Step 2: Voting members - Please ensure you have an active Campus-Wide Login (CWL)

We provide the ability to vote on motions online. You must be a voting member of the Faculty to vote. Please follow the instructions below to register and for instructions on how to vote when motions are presented during the event.  (Note: your vote will be counted and recorded during the meeting - but will not be reported openly unless there is a dispute on a motion that requires a detailed count.)

To comply with UBC privacy and security policies, live voting will be now conducted through the University's WebVote system.  In order to vote online, you need to have an active Campus-Wide Login (CWL) associated with your employee profile. If you have any doubt as to whether you have a CWL linked with your employee profile (and not a previous student profile), you are strongly advised to take the following steps at least one-week prior to the meeting to guarantee your ability to use the online voting system in the live setting.

  1. If you have forgotten your CWL login and/or password, please go to https://www.myaccount.ubc.ca and follow the links at the bottom of the page to retrieve them,
  2. If you do not have a CWL contact elections.information@ubc.ca to obtain the required data to create an account.  You will then be directed to create your account here:  https://it.ubc.ca/services/accounts-passwords/campus-wide-login-cwl/how-create-account
  3. If you were previously a UBC student with a CWL that may not yet have been linked to your employee profile, please contact elections.information@ubc.ca for assistance.

Step 3: Live Online Voting

  • Remote voting members can partcipate in live online voting during the meeting.
  • In your browser, please open a new webpage (separate from webcast window), go to the WebVote website and log in using your CWL.
  • Motions will appear on the webpage as they are being presented during the meeting (Note: voting members may vote only once per motion)

Step 4: Ask a question/comment

  • This feature will be enabled during the live webcast and allow viewers to submit a comment or question during the meeting.
  • To submit your question, click on the “Ask a Question” icon in the lower right hand corner of the webcast page or the upper left control bar of the classic webcast viewer.
  • Questions will be moderated by Dr. Samantha Reid, Senior Director, Office of the Dean & Strategic Initiatives. We will strive to address your questions during the meeting but if time does not permit, we will endeavor to post responses on MedNet.
