Advancing Academic Space Policies

Learn more about the space policy engagement process and how you can get involved.

UBC's Faculty of Medicine (FoM) is updating two space policies and guidelines that govern the allocation and management of FoM academic administrative and research space across B.C.

Last revised in 2012, these policies need to be updated to reflect the current context and diversity of space users' needs, and provide easy-to-use and fair guidelines that are consistently used to support the best and sustainable use of space assigned to the FoM.

A comprehensive, three-phase stakeholder engagement process to update and improve these policies started in January 2019 and is expected to conclude in December 2019. The project team seeks input from faculty and staff responsible for allocating and managing academic space across FoM Departments, Schools, Research Centres/Institutes and Administrative Units as well as from our health authority and university partners.

We are entering in the final stage of the process: Phase 3.
