Dr. Clarissa Wallace appointed interim Associate Dean, Fraser

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Clarissa Wallace as interim Associate Dean, Fraser, effective to March 31, 2025.

Dr. Wallace is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Medicine, and a community endocrinologist based at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster. She is also a project lead with the Office of Faculty Development and a course director in year one of the MD Undergraduate Program. Dr. Wallace previously served as Assistant Dean, Vancouver Fraser, where she provided operational leadership for MD undergraduate education in the Vancouver Fraser Medical Program, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality educational experience across all four years of the curriculum.

As interim Associate Dean, Fraser, Dr. Wallace will provide strategic leadership to ensure a high-quality educational and inclusive experience for all learners and trainees in the Fraser region. She will work closely with associate and assistant deans, department heads and school directors and other senior leaders to ensure regional academic activities and research initiatives align with the strategic priorities and plans of the Faculty and UBC.

Dr. Wallace’s appointment follows the leadership of Dr. Dean Jones, who recently assumed the role of Vice Dean, Health Engagement. I would like to thank Dr. Jones for his outstanding leadership in the Faculty and congratulate him on his new role.
