Dr. Paola Colozzo

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Paola Colozzo has been appointed interim Director, School of Audiology & Speech Sciences, effective to June 30, 2025. Dr. Colozzo has served as interim Co-Director of the School since July 2022 and the MSc Program Director at the School for the last six years.

Dr. Colozzo is an associate professor in the School of Audiology and Speech Sciences. Her areas of expertise and specialization include language development, childhood language disorders, and interactions between language and cognition.

Dr. Colozzo has a long-standing commitment to providing evidence-based services that are family-centred and adapted to the needs of all children and families. Recent projects include a community-based autism intervention research project funded by the BC Ministry of Child and Family Development, and projects focused on better serving bilingual children with language disorders and developmental disabilities.

I wish to recognize Dr. Jeff Small for his leadership over the School from 2017–2022, as well as Dr. Lorienne Jenstad and Dr. Valter Ciocca for their terms serving as interim Co-Directors with Dr. Colozzo over the past year.

Please join me in thanking Dr. Colozzo for her interim leadership.
