Dr. Sarah Bartlett appointed interim Associate Dean, Student Affairs

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Sarah Bartlett has been appointed as interim Associate Dean, Student Affairs, effective September 1, 2024 to February 28, 2025.

Dr. Bartlett is a clinical instructor in the Department of Family Practice. Most recently, she has served as Assistant Dean, Student Affairs for the Vancouver Fraser Medical Program, where she led the advancement of various wellbeing initiatives and worked collaboratively with students, faculty and staff to advance student supports. Dr. Bartlett has extensive teaching experience and comprehensive knowledge of curricular and assessment policies and procedures.

As interim Associate Dean, Student Affairs, Dr. Bartlett will provide strategic planning and leadership to continue enhancing province-wide student support services offered through the Office of the Student Affairs in the MD Undergraduate Program, including counselling, wellbeing programs, career advising and planning, financial advising, and equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Dr. Bartlett’s appointment follows the leadership of Dr. Laura Farrell, who has assumed the role of Regional Associate Dean, Vancouver Island, UBC Faculty of Medicine and Academic Director, Vancouver Island, UBC Distributed Programs, University of Victoria effective September 1, 2024. I would like to thank Dr. Farrell for her outstanding leadership and contributions.
