I am pleased to announce the extension of Dr. Shahin Shirzad as the Assistant Dean, MD Admissions, MD Undergraduate Program, effective to June 30, 2025. Dr. Shirzad is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
As Assistant Dean, MD Admissions, Dr. Shirzad is responsible for and provides oversight of the admissions process for the Doctor of Medicine (MD) Undergraduate Program.
Over this term extension, he will continue to oversee and implement the new MD seat expansion and admissions renewal process. In addition, he will continue to provide strategic leadership and oversight to the MD admissions process, from recruitment and application to candidate selection and site placement, and to ensure admissions activities align with the strategic priorities and plans of the Faculty of Medicine and UBC.
