Drs. Valter Ciocca & Paola Colozzo appointed interim Co-Directors, School of Audiology and Speech Sciences

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Valter Ciocca and reappointment of Dr. Paola Colozzo as interim Co-Directors, School of Audiology and Speech Sciences, effective to December 31, 2022. Dr. Ciocca’s appointment follows the interim leadership of Dr. Lorienne Jenstad as interim Co-Director of the School.

Dr. Ciocca is a professor at the School of Audiology and Speech Sciences, and previously served as director of the School from 2007 to 2017. His research expertise includes the perceptual and acoustic analyses of speech produced by speakers with and without communication disorders, the perception and production of lexical tones, and auditory scene analysis. Dr. Ciocca is also the Chair of the Board of the Council for Accreditation of Canadian University Programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.

Dr. Colozzo is an associate professor in the School of Audiology and Speech Sciences. Her areas of expertise and specialization are language development, childhood language disorders, and interactions between language and cognition. Dr. Colozzo has also been the MSc Program Director at the School for the last five years.
