The Office of Respectful Environments, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) invites you to its first virtual symposium: “Race Ideology: Historical Perspectives, Current Realities and Re-imagining the Future.”

What will I learn?
- How racist ideology led to the categorization of people into “races”.
- How centuries of medical knowledge, health care, research and health professions education have continued to perpetuate systemic racism.
- Who benefits from racism and discrimination and how racist systems and structures are sustained.
- How to engage with anti-racism strategies and pedagogies aimed to dismantle racist structures and re-engage in a more equitable future.
