In commemoration of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, join the Office of Respectful Environments, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) on September 25 for Coming Home: Honouring the Resiliency of All Survivors of the Indian Residential School Experience.

Derek K Thompson – Čaabať Bookwilla | Suhiltun, Hereditary Chief and Director of Indigenous Engagement, invites you to attend this unique event and bear witness to a transformative ceremony and conversation between generations of Survivors of the Indian Residential School experience.

  • Date: Wednesday, September 25, 2024, 9 am–4 pm
  • Location: In-person at the University Centre, Vancouver
  • Lunch and refreshments will be served. This session will also be streamed online.

About the artwork: Calling Our Children Home

Created by West Coast artist, Ray Sim | Aa-Aats iḱ-nuk, this artwork was commissioned by Derek K Thompson – Čaabať Bookwilla | Suhiltun to honour the event panel members.
