Formerly entrepreneurship@UBC, Innovation UBC works with UBC’s researchers to support and accelerate the translation of their research into real-world impacts. These programs are designed for UBC entrepreneurs looking to further their venture opportunity through in-depth training, mentorship and resources.
Lab2Market Validate Foundations
Lab2Market Validate Foundations is a three-day intensive virtual training program open to researchers and faculty, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of research commercialization.
The program is designed for individuals at the outset of their journeys seeking to commercialize their ideas — those who envision how their technology can benefit the real world and wish to understand the steps required for commercialization.
The fall cohort will run September 15, 17 & 19, 2025. Apply by Monday, September 8, 2025.
Lab2Market Validate
Lab2Market Validate is a program open to research teams consisting of graduate student or postdoctoral researcher and their faculty supervisor, who have identified a market opportunity and are ready to validate their business.
Over the four-month, full-time program, participants gain essential entrepreneurial skills to bring their technology from the lab to the marketplace.
The winter 2026 cohort will run from February to May 2026. Apply by Friday, September 26, 2025.
