Applications are open for the Peter Wall Legacy Awards 2026 competition. This suite of awards, focusing on research and scholarly activity in identified areas relating to sustainability in British Columbia, represents one of the largest internal award programs at any university in North America.
Wall Research Awards are available for individual and team projects from faculty members, as well as for graduate students. The program of awards, open to researchers in all disciplines, is valued at approximately $4 million annually, and made possible by the generosity of Dr. Peter Wall.
The awards currently focus on research in British Columbia relating to sustainability in the areas of urban development, water, energy, transportation infrastructure, environmental protection of oceans and waterfronts, and resource-intensive industry.
Applications are open for the following categories:
- Wall Fellowships: Submit a notice of intent by Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
- Information session: February 9.
- Wall Research Awards: Submit a notice of intent as an individual or team by Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
- Information session: February 10.
- Wall Graduate Research Awards: Master’s and PhD students, apply by March 31.
