Formerly entrepreneurship@UBC, Innovation UBC works with UBC’s researchers to support and accelerate the translation of their research into real-world impacts. These programs are designed for UBC entrepreneurs looking to further their venture opportunity through in-depth training, mentorship and resources.
Venture Founder
Venture Founder is a 16-week program open to UBC faculty, staff and students who want to build transformative solutions to solve global problems.
The program offers experiential workshops to define and validate your venture opportunity, support from experienced mentors, and covers foundational and operational topics to establish a viable startup company.
The fall 2025 cohort runs from September, 2025 to February, 2026. Apply by May 16, 2025.
Lab2Market Validate Foundations
Lab2Market Validate Foundations is a three-day intensive virtual training program open to researchers and faculty, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of research commercialization.
The program is designed for individuals at the outset of their journeys seeking to commercialize their ideas — those who envision how their technology can benefit the real world and wish to understand the steps required for commercialization.
The Validate Foundations program is open to researchers across disciplines, alongside a second stream, Lab2Market Health: Validate Foundations, tailored specifically to health researchers across Canada.
The program will run June 3, 4 and 5, 2025. Apply for either stream by May 12, 2025.
