The UBC community is invited to comment on proposed amendments to the Deaccessioning Policy (UP11) and the Information Systems Policy (SC14).
All members of the UBC community are encouraged to provide their comments by Friday, January 9, 2026.
Deaccessioning Policy (UP11): The proposed amendments include changes to reflect new units that house collections, and distinguishing reasons for deaccession and methods of disposition along with decision-making processes for each. Elements relating to repatriation are proposed to be removed, in anticipation of a new policy currently being developed.
Information Systems Policy (SC14) & repeal of Wireless Network Policy (SC11): The proposed amendments include obligations for reporting cybersecurity incidents, the addition of procedures for operational application of the policy and allowing the establishment of rules related to the policy subject matter. This includes repealing the Wireless Network Policy (SC11), which will be replaced by rules under the amended Information Systems Policy.
