Dr. Dan Rurak passed away on March 6, 2023.
A professor emeritus in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Rurak joined UBC in 1977. He also served as Program Director of the Reproductive and Development Sciences Graduate Program, as well as Co-Director of the CIHR Research Training Program on Women’s Reproductive Health and Associate Director of the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute.
Dr. Rurak was an accomplished researcher, focused on improving the health outcomes of women and their babies, particularly in high-risk pregnancies. He was also a passionate advocate for international research collaborations, volunteering his time and expertise in many national and international research committees and organizations.
