
Dr. David Dix passed away on December 11, 2025.
A current Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology, Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant. Dr. Dix was also a clinician and researcher at BC Children’s Hospital.
An exceptional hematologist-oncologist, he was actively involved global research groups working to improve the treatment of childhood cancers and disorders, including the Histiocyte Society and the Children’s Oncology Group.
Dr. Dix is remembered by his colleagues and former trainees as a beloved mentor. His passion for service and teaching were recognized by awards including the Royal College Specialty Committee Chair Service Award and, most recently, the 2025 UBC Postgraduate Medical Education Outstanding Contribution Award.
