Dr. Paul Dubord passed away on September 5, 2022.
As an eye surgeon specializing in corneal transplantation and eye banking, Dr. Dubord was a professor emeritus in the Department of Ophthalmology and taught recently in the Branch for Global Surgical Care.
Dr. Dubord founded charity organization Eyesight International, and was appointed to the World Health Organization’s (WHO’s) Expert Advisory Panel on Cell Tissue and Organ Transplantation and Task Force on Organ and Tissue Transplantation and Donation. Dr. Dubord was recently appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada to recognize his contributions to ophthalmology and his humanitarian work on the international stage.
