Dr. William Alastair McLeod passed away on October 7, 2023.
A Clinical Professor Emeritus, Dr. McLeod served in the UBC Division of Dermatology (now the Department of Dermatology and Skin Science). He also served as Head of the Division of Dermatology at St. Paul’s Hospital, as well as in many leadership and executive positions in Canadian dermatology.
Amongst his accomplishments as a clinician, researcher and educator, Dr. McLeod is noted for his extensive work in HIV and AIDS care, beginning in the early stages of the epidemic. His work was recognized with the AccolAIDS Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003.
