2023 Faculty Salary Increases

The Faculty Association and the University have agreed to wait for the conclusion of the ratification vote to start the 2023 increase process. This is so that if the membership votes to ratify the new agreement the increases can be processed in sequential order, which will ensure clarity and mean that they will not have to redo any increases. The 2022 GWI will be first followed by October 1, 2022, labor market salary adjustments, the 2023 1% lump sum, and then the 2023 increases. 

It is anticipated that Faculty Relations will send out the increase spreadsheets in June. We will share the exact timeline for the increase spreadsheets as soon as it is available.

UBC CPD Clinical Faculty Mentoring program

The Clinical Faculty Mentoring Program, a partnership between UBC Faculty Affairs and UBC Continuing Professional Development (CPD), is a program for clinical faculty within the UBC Faculty of Medicine (FoM) who are interested in mentorship. The purpose of this formal mentoring program is to support the career goals of clinical faculty in the areas of administration, clinical, and teaching to enhance overall engagement within the FoM. Sick Leave Extension Process for Faculty

Faculty HR team is not part of the approval process when Departments/Schools extend an approved sick leave in Workday as only the manager’s approval is required. Therefore, please notify the Faculty HR Team (following the portfolio breakdown) by email before you extend a faculty member’s paid sick leave in Workday, so we can review the sick leave extension and notify Faculty Relations. In your email, if not already uploaded to Workday, please include a doctor’s certification of the illness, a prognosis of the expected return date, and any accommodation that may be required if requesting a partial medical leave.

FoM HR Roundtable
