Town Halls

We have an opportunity to define the future of medicine and the future of our Faculty. Join the conversation. The Town Halls are an interactive forum for dialogue and a way for faculty, staff and students to share their ideas, suggestions and comments about the Faculty’s new strategic plan. In defining this vision, many questions come to mind, including:  How will we ensure that we are educating and training practitioners prepared to work in an evolving health system? How can we further the work of researchers who are already making enormous strides in all facets of biomedical science? How will we create the translational structures that allow us to contribute at the highest level? How will we extend our capacity to ensure diversity in attracting the best faculty and students? How do we create agile teams and processes to support innovation and focus on academic and clinical contributions? How do we further develop our relationships with health care partners and other disciplines? With whom will we collaborate most closely to maximize our impact? What will we prioritize and focus on to ensure excellence?    Schedule   Kelowna, Tuesday, March 8   Host site: KGH Clinical Academic Campus, Room 106 | MapVideoconference sites: UBCO Reichwald Health Sciences Centre 260 | Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital ER2 | Vernon Jubilee Hospital 5-169 | Royal Inland Hospital 104 | UBC MOVI ID 30211 4:30 pm: Meet and Greet (host site)5:00 pm:  Town Hall begins Victoria, Thursday, March 17 Host site: Royal Jubilee Hospital, Coronation Annex, Room 125 | MapVideoconference sites: UVic Medical Sciences Building 160 | Victoria General Hospital 1916 | Cowichan District Hospital 045 | Campbell River Hospital IMP | Nanaimo Regional General Hospital 2060 | St. Joseph's General Hospital 0100 | West Coast General Hospital 2340C | UBC MOVI ID 302024:30 pm: Meet and Greet (host site)5:00 pm:  Town Hall begins Vancouver, Tuesday, March 22   Host site: Diamond Health Care Centre, Room 2264 | MapVideoconference sites: UBC Life Sciences Centre 1312 | Surrey Memorial Hospital (M-3.526) | Children's & Women's Health Centre Shaughnessy Building D308 (note room change) | Royal Columbian Hospital 025 | St. Paul's Hospital 4/54:45 pm: Meet and Greet (host site)5:15:  Town Hall beginsPrince George, Friday, April 1  Host site: University Hospital of Northern British Columbia, Room 0501| Map Videoconference sites: Dr. Donald Rix Northern Health Sciences Centre  9-235 | Fort St. John Hospital 0713 | Mills Memorial Hospital 1020 | UBC MOVI ID 302014:45 pm: Meet and Greet (host site)5:15:  Town Hall beginsJoin the Conversation Online If you are not available to attend, complete our online form and send us your ideas, suggestions and comments.
