The Faculty of Medicine is launching an internal selection process to nominate a single candidate to apply for the Translational Cancer Research Grant, offered by the V Foundation for Cancer Research. Self nominations for the internal competition are permitted, but nominations can be submitted to V Foundation for Cancer Research by invitation only.
Adult Translational Cancer Research
- One of the following faculty appointment types:
- Tenure/Tenure Track
- Grant Tenure/Grant Tenure Track
- Partner
- $800,000 over 4 years, including 10% indirect costs
- Research projects within the scope of adult cancer research, specifically in the focus area of therapeutic resistance
- FoM internal selection deadline: March 6, 2023
- Nomination deadline: March 15, 2023
- Full application deadline: April 24, 2023
Nomination Package
Interested candidates should submit the following documents by the FoM internal selection deadline to bryan.wong@ubc.ca:
- Up to date UBC CV
- Summary of your research proposal (1 page max), including project title
- Recommendation letter (max 3 pages), with confirmation that this has been vetted by Department Head/School Director, addressing the following:
- Why you should be selected
- How you incorporate EDI factors in your research
- Institutional resources that will be available to you
- If the nature of the research is bench to bedside with patient contact, describe how patient advocacy/communication will be or has been incorporated into your training
