Title:

Senior Program Assistant

Department/Unit:

Physical Therapy

Campus:

UBC Vancouver, Point Grey Campus

How long have you worked at the UBC Faculty of Medicine?

Since September, 2019.

Tell us what you do at the Faculty in one or two sentences:

I provide support to the Masters of Physical Therapy (MPT) program with its day-to-day administrative and operational running. I compile information necessary for the planning, organizing and scheduling of teaching materials for the MPT program, as well as provide timely, accurate data and information for the program management to inform strategic and operational decisions.

What’s your favourite thing about your work?

The people. I feel very lucky to be part of such a great team.

What’s one thing we might be surprised to learn about you?

I lived in New Zealand for 6 months after finishing high school, and it was my first time living abroad (I am originally from Brazil). I think that this experience is one of the main reasons why I decided to move to Canada after university.

What song did you sing out loud to as a teenager?

Any songs by Green Day (and I still do!)

What’s one thing on your desk you brought from home?

My coffee mug. I wouldn’t be able to function properly without it.

What is your favourite vacation spot, and why?

A beach resort in northeast Brazil — my parents and I used to spend a week in one every December since I was little.
