Curriculum Pathways

Learn about the Faculty of Medicine’s pathways for submitting proposals for curriculum, academic calendar changes and new programs/certificates.

In alignment with the Faculty of Medicine’s governance renewal in 2018, all proposed changes to curricula will be facilitated and approved by the Faculty of Medicine (FoM) before moving forward for approval to the University of British Columbia (UBC) Senate Office for final approval; and implementation.

The Faculty of Medicine’s Curriculum Team operates out of the Office of the Vice Dean, Education (VDE) whereby a consistent, streamlined, single point of contact exists between the proponents, the Faculty, UBC Senate, and external governing bodies to support and facilitate all curriculum and academic calendar changes, which includes new program/certificate requests. The FoM Curriculum Team will review proposals; and provide advice to proponents on proposal-specific approval pathways. To understand the different types of changes, please visit the Categories of Curriculum page.

All inquiries related to curriculum, academic calendar changes and new program/certificate requests, can be directed to  fom.curriculum@ubc.ca.
