System Access – UBC CWL Integration
One45 is accessible using UBC CWL Accounts since December 2024, this is a requirement to ensure we meet information security and compliance at UBC. To sign in all UBC users will need to enter UBC CWL Account credentials.
Administrators are no longer required to create and/or edit account (i.e. edit ranks, update permissions or email addresses). This process is being centralized and requests will be actioned promptly by the Education Systems Team. Please submit requests to fomeas.support@ubc.ca
Additionally, administrators will be requested to support Clinical Faculty in accessing their CWL account and password information, the details below are to provide guidance in how to support faculty when they run into CWL account access issue.
An inactive CWL means the account has not yet been activated. The user can check the status of their CWL Account using this link: https://www.myaccount.ubc.ca/myAccount/login.xhtml
If it is inactive then the user needs to contact the UBC IT Desk by email (service.helpdesk@ubc.ca) or call 604.822.2008 (M-F 8:00-5:00) for the account to be activated.
Clinical Faculty can recover their CWL username following these steps:
1. Go to the CWL Account Recover Page
2. Enter the email address associated with your CWL account
3. This will generate an email with your CWL login name
Clinical Faculty can use this link to reset their password once they have their CWL username: https://www.myaccount.ubc.ca/myAccount/login.xhtml
If no CWL account has been assigned this indicates an issue with the automation process for generation of CWL accounts at UBC IT. Often, Clinical Faculty may have a student account and the accounts have not been merged correctly as part of the Clinical Faculty appointment process.
In these cases, One45 support can not assist and Clinical Faculty will need to either email the UBC IT Desk (service.helpdesk@ubc.ca) or call 604.822.2008 (M-F 8:00-5:00) for the account to get fixed.
Please ensure to remind Clinical Faculty to request that the accounts are merged and not to request a new CWL account.
If a CWL account has not been used for a long period of time it can become suspended. To reactivate the CWL account the user will need to reset the CWL password:
1. Go to: https://www.myaccount.ubc.ca/myAccount/login.xhtml
2. Click on “Forgot you CWL Password?”
3. Choose the “Reset password by email” option
If the “reset password by email” option doesn’t appear, please advise the user to call UBC IT Service Centre at 604.822.2008 (M-F 8:00-5:00) to request a manual password reset.
As part of the Clinical Faculty appointment process a CWL account is created, sometimes a previous CWL account may have been active if the individual was a UBC student and this duplication can cause complications. In these cases we must advise for the user to call UBC IT Service Centre at 604.822.2008 (M-F 8:00-5:00) to complete an identify verification step. Due to UBC’s privacy and security policies this cannot be completed through email.

This error comes up if the MFA enrollment has timed out and an attempt is made to enroll again right away. If you were previously in the middle of an initial registration but were interrupted or timed out, please wait 30 minutes for your profile to reset before trying again. There is no need to call the IT Support Centre for a bypass code.
