The Faculty of Medicine Collaboration Team is here to help you feel confident using in-room videoconferencing (VC) technology. By submitting a request form, you can schedule a personalized, hands-on training session tailored to the equipment in our academic learning spaces.
If you are looking for Zoom-only training, please email the EdTech team.
What to Expect
Our in-person training sessions are designed to introduce you to the core features and controls of the in-room VC equipment. Whether you’re using a small meeting room, a lecture theatre, or a Plinth Lab, our technicians will walk you through the essentials so you’re ready to host and participate in sessions with ease.
During your session, we’ll cover:
- An overview of the room’s setup, including camera and display locations
- A walkthrough of the touch control panels and how to start a videoconference session
- How to adjust speaker volume and use in-room microphones (lectern lapel, handheld, etc.)
- Best practices when presenting
- How to share content using a laptop, USB drive, or lectern PC
- How to record a session
- Tips for moderating a session without audio feedback
- Tips for managing Zoom chat function and participant management
- Any specific questions you have about using the in-room technology for your needs
This training lets you practice using the system in a relaxed and supportive environment. Our goal is to ensure you leave the session with the confidence to run your event smoothly.
