Internal Controls

​An overview of internal controls, training and the self-assessment checklist.

​​Internal controls are in place to ensure assets are protected, to maintain operating efficiency, and to assure reporting is reliable. 

Concepts like separation of duties where tasks are split between individuals to attain sufficient levels of checks and balances on activities; securing assets are only some internal control activities used to deter occurrence of theft, fraud, and abnormalities.
